Social Impact

The concept of creating a nutritious protein source originated from Advance International, Inc.’s founder, Mr. Mazi Ghorbani and his wife Gaby, founder of Pledge to Humanity. Together, they learned the horrific truth that millions of children die from malnutrition every year because they simply can’t get the milk, vitamins, and minerals their young bodies need. Mothers in poor regions can’t produce enough milk themselves and can’t afford to buy it or store it. The lack of clean water makes alternatives like powdered milk dangerous.

With this in mind, Mazi and Gaby set out to discover a nutritious and efficient source of protein and founded Advance International, Inc. In 2014, APP produced a highly nutritious ready to eat package to be distributed via NGOs. This initiative was a dream come true, and the realization of a core part of Advance International's mission.

Improving the Food Supply

In a July 2012 report, the United Nations states that food production will need to increase by 60% to feed the 2+ billion more people that are expected to be on this planet by 2050. Yet, our current methods of manufacturing food will not be sufficient as nature can’t keep up with our unsustainable demands on land, fresh water, forest, and the ecosystem in general. Currently, a quarter of the planet (land) is required to produce most of the food supply. Yet the water that covers the other 75% of the planet is only producing a fraction of the world’s food supply. Advance International plans to revolutionize our food system with marine based protein powder that requires zero grain, zero land, pesticides, or fresh water. APP is sustainable, highly nutritious, and has a minuscule carbon footprint. This resulting protein powder is a highly functional ingredient that works well with many consumables.
